CHARLES L. ROBERTS, age 76 of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1940, in Wetzel County, W.Va., a son of the late Odis Averill and Georgie M. Longwell Roberts. Charles was a barber for 47 years in Huntington, W.Va. He was a member of First Christian Church of Bristol, Va., and Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife Shirley Roberts; daughters Carolyn Childers and husband Doug, and Angela Roberts; son Brent Roswall and wife Pati; grandchildren Jamie Grant, Taylor Roswall, Chase Roswall and Katie Childers; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Nichole Reed and JayLynn Grant; sisters-in-law Peggy Waugh, Diana Rife and Fern Waugh; niece Jennifer Ryder; and nephews Jeremy Waugh and T.J. Waugh. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Danny McSweeney and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. The interment will follow the service at Herrenkohl Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Blackaby, Dale Fitzwater, Hurston Webb, Larry Wilcox, Jim Stewart, Larry Blake, David Chapman, Frank Staggs and Chase Roswall. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Childers, Curtis Grant, Jeremy Waugh, T.J. Waugh, Raymond Holley and John Goodson. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday February 15, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary.
