Obituary


Mary Ellen Osborne, 84, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Cabell Health Care Center in Culloden. Mary was born on March 13, 1934, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Carl Ward and Mary Jane Harker Ward. She attended Huntington High School and later went on to become an ophthalmology technician for Dr. Marion C. Korstanje. Mary was an avid fan of Marshall University football and basketball. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Rufus Osborne; a brother, Allen Ward; a daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Osborne; and a granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Osborne. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Hardesty and Marcia Osborne-Gajic; a special daughter, Julie Vieta; grand-daughter; Ellen Renae Hardesty; great-granddaughter Kaedance Faith Osborne; an aunt Mary to CJ Adams and Spencer Burtnick; nieces, Janna Sakowitz, Shelly Lewis, and Mary Theresa Sharp; nephews, Nick, Mark, and Rick Lews, Carl Allen Ward and Dana Bob Ward; and her companion, John Thomas Haney. A memorial service is being planned and will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Huntington.
