Obituary



Loda Ella Ryder, 91, of Lake Placid, FL formerly of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday January 9, 2019 in Balmoral Assisted Living in Lake Placid. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 Friday, January 18, 2019, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, with Pastor Ray Vance officiating. Burial will follow. Loda was born May 13, 1927 in Madison, WV, a daughter of the late Bill N. and Jessica Ann Chandler Bell. She was a member of the Fifth Ave Freewill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jarrell Paul Ryder; one daughter, Patricia Ann Ryder; and one great granddaughter, Ashley Star Hicks. Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Sue Jones and husband Arthur Hage of Hurricane, WV and one son, Larry Paul Ryder and wife Robin of Lake Placid; two grandchildren, Lori Jones of Hurricane and Josh Jones and wife Kedra of Clayton, OH; two great grandchildren, Austin Hicks and Sophia Jones. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 pm Friday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.. The funeral procession will leave at 1:45 for the cemetery.
