Ruby Arlene Akers, 85, of Prichard, WV, went to be with the Lord, Monday May 2, 2011 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation, with her daughters and son Danny by her side. Ruby was born September 7, 1925 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Sam & Elsie Hodge McKenzie. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband Jewell Akers of Prichard, 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Dianne (Rick) Davis of Proctorville, Lola (David) Jobe of Ceredo, 2 sons Danny Akers of Kenova & Richard (Peggy) Akers of Whitescreek, four grandchildren, Tara Porter, Misty Smith, Sandra Daniels & Richard Akers, Jr., two great-granddaughters & four great-grandsons. Private visitation and graveside service. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is in charge of arrangements.
