Sandra J. Davis

Sandra J. Davis, 73, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born April 5, 1938 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Brown Janes. Sandra studied art at Marshall University and was an accomplished portrait painter. She was employed with the Huntington Museum of Art for 17 years. She also taught private lessons in oils and pastels. Survivors include: her husband, Earl Davis; a son, Mark Robert Davis of Huntington; and two brothers, Bob Campbell of Covington, KY and Ronnie Janes of Florida. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday June 9, 2011 at the Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, Huntington with Rev. Bob Withers officiating. Visitation will begin at 6 PM prior to the service at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Huntington Museum of Art. Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
