Jewell Louise Brumfield Adkins of Huntington, WV was born August 3,1920, Dawes, WV and died February 24, 2018, 97 years 6 months and 21 days at Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home. Jewell was raised in a Coal Mining Camp, in Dehue, WV and was a true Coal Miner's Daughter. After getting married, she moved to Huntington. She was the daughter of Bernie Leondas and Sina Fay LeMasters Brumfield. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne Eugene (Ann) and Bernie Leondas (Betty) Brumfield, infant son, Homer Adkins, Jr., Homer Adkins, the father of her children. She is survived by son Ronnie (Karen) Adkins of Huntington, daughter Sherrie and husband, Larry Morgan of Chesapeake, Ohio - grandchildren Ronnie (Kristi) Adkins of Clover, SC, Jeff (Karen) Adkins of Huntington, WV, Brian (Jennifer) Morgan of Chesapeake, OH, Bradley (Ginny) Morgan of Chesapeake, OH - greatgrandchildren Emily, Corey, Matthew and Ruby Adkins, Michael, Katherine, Alex, Avery and Ethan Morgan -sister Freda (Kenneth) Thomas of Linton, IN. Pallbearers: Ronnie, Jeff and Corey Adkins, Brian, Michael, Alex, Bradley and Ethan Morgan. Jewell was a member of the Apostolic Church for 67 years and was devoted to her church, religion, children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her. Brian Morgan, her grandson, will preach her funeral. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
