Obituary

Held hostage no more by the demons of addiction, Jeremy Scott Stump, 38 of Huntington, died February 3, 2018, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1979 and was a graduate of Huntington High School. He was blunt, outspoken, and rebellious to a fault, but he always took time to help a friend in need. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing pool and basketball. Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Diane Blankenship and Shane Downing of Huntington; his father Jerry Curry of Wayne; his daughter Makayla Ray of Huntington; his brother Christopher Blankenship of Houston; his maternal grandmother Edna Stump of Huntington; and a special aunt that loved him dearly, Kim Lambiotte of Huntington. Additional survivors include his beloved cat Oreo and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Our hearts are broken but we take comfort in knowing that his suffering is over and he is finally at peace. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be sent to the Recovery Center of one's choice. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends may visit one hour prior to the celebration at Chapman's Mortuary on Friday.
