Obituary

Mary Lynn (Riddle) Bell, 71, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at home in New Martinsville, WV. She was the beloved companion and wife to Quentin Bell for the past 47 years. She was healthy all of her life until the last year when she experienced a stroke and developed cancer.  She was born in Point Pleasant, WV, daughter of the late Okla Frances Robbins and Kenneth Elija Riddle.   Mary was a homemaker and a Christian. Many loved her. In fact, in one former community of residence, there are more than fifty people who call her mom and treated her as such, and she treated them as her children as well. She was kind and always willing to help others. She enjoyed reading books, collecting them, selling them on Ebay, Scrabble, Jeopardy TV show, and camping. But mostly, she concentrated on the care of her husband and children. She was a very well organized person and efficient with many things.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Elija Riddle, Jr., and her faithful little dog of fifteen years: Pretty Girl.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Edward Stanley Cook Jr., John Worthy Cook, Phillip David Cook, Allicia Lillian Cook, and Patrick Eugene Cook. Also surviving are her sisters Thomasa Jane Hemp of Totowa, NJ, and Kemmeth Ann Riddle of New Brighton, PA. She has three grandchildren.  Services will be held at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV on Wednesday, February 21. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 PM with funeral immediately following. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
