Starr Suson Sloan, 80, of Huntington, WV, died Friday February 9, 2018 in Chateau Grove Assisted Living, Barboursville, WV. Starr was born March 9, 1937 in Huntington, WV the daughter of the late Howard and Patricia Francis Dowdle Shanklin. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Sloan. Survivors include two daughters, Starr Skotnicki of Pawleys Island, SC, and Angel Rife of Huntington, one son, Jack M. Rife and Sherri M. Jackson of Charleston, WV, three grandchildren, Tessa L. Rife of San Francisco, CA, Rachel J. Rife of Lexington, KY and Jack-Tyler Rife of Charleston. There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 1601 2nd Ave, Charleston, WV 25387. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
