Obituary


Betty Jane Bias, 73, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA a daughter of the late Arvil and Hattie Barbour Collins. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Sue Shaver; three sisters, Elsie Shoemate, Hazel Ruth Rose, and Oweda Sprinkle; and two brothers, Harold Collins and Rule Collins. She was retired from Owens-Illinois and was a former office manager for Johnson Electric. Survivors include: her husband, Lemach "Buck" Bias; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Dawn and Larry Sean Vititoe of Bolivia, NC; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark Allen and Mary Sansom of Milton, WV, Christopher Lee and Pam Sansom of Huntington, and Keith Ray Bias of Denver, CO; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Wanda and Bill Sprinkle of Richmond, VA, Jean and Ray Terry of Orlando, FL, Carol Vitale of Annapolis, MD, and Doris and Robert Bain of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friends, Doris Spurlock, Marge Spurlock, Beverly Johnson, and Carol Estep. It was Betty's wishes to have no services or visitation. Private entombment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
