Obituary

Grace E. Bowman
(November 25, 1923 - March 9, 2015)



Grace E. Bowman, 91, of Barboursville, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She retired after 23 years from Owens/Illinois as a selector. Memorial services will be conducted Noon Monday, March 16, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Bob Hogsett officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born November 25, 1923, in New Haven, WV, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Adrian Marie Foglesong Ord. Her husband, Haller W. “Bo” Bowman; two daughters, Janice Marie Willis, and Sandra Wasity; one son, Gaylord Joseph Kidd, Jr, also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wells, FL, and a former member of 7th Avenue Baptist Church, Huntington. She also worked in Northern Ohio as a Rosie the Riveter. Survivors include, a son-in-law, Stephen Willis of Huntington; two step-sons, David Lee Bowman of WV, and William Alan Bowman of NC; 5 grandchildren, T.K. Willis and Tyler Willis both of Huntington, Troy Willis of Rochester, NY, Judy Hester of Cincinnati, OH, and Bill Latimer; 10 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wyngate for their care of Grace. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Huntington 1101 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV, 25709.
