Wesley David McClure
(March 25, 1922 - March 7, 2015)



Wesley David McClure, 92, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday March 7, 2015 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Ernest M. Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. David was born March 25, 1922 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Wesley Otto & Edna Mae Weaver McClure. He was retired from the former C & O Railroad and a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. David was past president of the Lost Chord Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 ½ years, Mary Elizabeth McClure, and one brother, William McClure. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Brindle & husband Tom of Pensacola, FL, four sons, David Martin “Butch” McClure of New Smyrna, FL, Mark Allen McClure of Huntington, Dale Edmond McClure of Jackson, FL, & Michael Joseph McClure & wife Janette of Cannonsburg, KY, six grandchildren, William Wesley Payne & wife Tricia of Pensacola, Angela Kay Gentry & husband Troy of Nashville, TN, Amanda Jane Owens & husband Tommy, and Carrie Elizabeth Parker & husband Victor all of New Smyrna, Taylar Nixon & husband Nicholas of South Point, OH, & Turner McClure of Milton, four great grandchildren, Kaylee Gentry, Savanna Faith & Ethan Hunter Lynn and Bryden Nixon and one brother, Claire S. McClure of Huntington. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may visit with the family after 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
