Obituary

James Robert Riner, II
(October 10, 1949 - March 1, 2015)



James Robert Riner, II, 65, of Huntington, husband of Jo Ann McKinney Riner, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born October 10, 1949, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late James Robert and Zettie Louise Blankenship Riner. A brother, T.R. Riner also preceded him in death. He was a communication specialist with the former AT&T and Marshall University. James attended Lighthouse Baptist Church, loved to fish and enjoyed his family time, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, survivors include; a daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Andrew Harshbarger of Huntington; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg and Angie Riner of Huntington and Thomas Riner at home; four grandchildren, Hanley Riner, Aiden Harshbarger, Owen Harshbarger, and Ella Harshbarger; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tom Connell of Dayton, OH; a brother, Pat Riner of Huntington; and nieces and nephews, Robert Accord, Devon Connell, Scotty Connell, Sean Riner, Michelle Bolton, and a special nephew, Stephen Riner. Donations would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis Morrello officiating. Chapman’s Mortuary is assisting the family.
