Obituary

Selma Marcum
(January 3, 1932 - March 15, 2015)



Selma Marcum, 83, of Coatesville, PA, formerly of Kenova, WV, widow of Marlin Marcum, left this world for a better one, Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Tel Hai Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Honey Brook, PA. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor Patrick Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova. She was born January 3, 1932 in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Evans Fitch. Selma was raised by her grandparents, James and Columbia Spaulding, formerly of Kermit, WV. She was a former operator for C&P Telephone Company, and a former member of Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church. A devoted mother, Selma was also community oriented, had a generous heart, and was loved by all. Survivors include two sons, Dale Marcum and wife, Bernadette, of Coatesville, PA, and David Marcum of Huntington; a step-grandson, Francis Terpening of Philadelphia, PA; brother, James Spaulding and wife, Carol, of Ulysses, KY; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
