Obituary
William Lee Hill, 70, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born September 1, 1947 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Thomas and Marjorie Hill Galloway and Alice Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Q. Hill; and two brothers, Raymond Galloway and Perry Galloway. He was a retired claims adjuster with State Farm and currently worked for the Department of Veteran's Affairs. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Marshall University and a Master's Degree from University of Pittsburgh. He was an avid runner and bicyclist. He had a passion for helping homeless veterans and he established the ride for homeless veterans to raise funds for the Homeless Veterans Center. In 2011, they rode from Huntington to Wheeling and in 2012 and 2013, they rode to Washington, DC. He was an advocate for the homeless and secured donations of food from small businesses and churches for the Harmony House. Survivors include: his wife of 46 years, Patricia Kinney Hill; a daughter, Regina Ann Hill of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Christina Hill of Mineral Wells, WV; two grandchildren, Taylor Bruer of Chicago, IL and Majesty Hill of Mineral Wells, WV; a foster son, Thomas M. Brown of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Cecilia Pugh of Wheeling, Emma Galloway of Alexandria, VA, Myrtle Galloway of Akron, OH and Carolyn Carrier of Las Vegas, NV; his extended family, Ronald and Ellene Beard, Rose Kinney, Edwina Kinney, John and Tina Kinney, Bowman Burton, and Wilkes and Carolyn Kinney; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, Huntington, with Rev. Joseph Hill and Dr. John Kinney officiating. Friends may fellowship with the family after the service at the church. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family. |
