Robert Ernest Weant, 87, of Huntington, WV, widower of Beverly Steinbrecher Weant, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Brother Tom Jones officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, with military graveside rites to be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, Huntington, WV. He was born June 27, 1930, in Huntington, a son of the late James and Ada Suiter Weant. One brother, Charles Douglas Weant also preceded him in death. He was a US Army veteran, and retired from CSXT as a mechanical engineer. Survivors include two sons, Michael A. Weant and his wife, Janet L. of Wadsworth, OH, and David L. Weant and fiancée, Kimberly R. Jones of Huntington; one sister and her husband, Donna Jean and Robert Harbour also of Huntington; three grandchildren, Anna M. Weant-King (Scott), Timothy M. Weant, and Z. Dakota Weant. Friends may call one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
