Obituary



John Claude Sydenstricker, 87, of Ona, WV, died Sunday January 21, 2018 at Teays Valley Center, Hurricane, WV. Memorial funeral service will be conducted 2:30 PM Saturday February 3, 2018 at Cox Landing United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Mayes officiating. John was born January 24, 1930 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Clarence Harvey and Lilly Harrison Sydenstricker. He served in the National Guard, was a retired steelworker and a member of the Cox Landing United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Sydenstricker and one sister, Dorothy Terry. Survivors include one son, John Scott (Nancy) Sydenstricker of Mason, WV, one sister, Ruth (Joe) Morehouse of Lesage, one sister-in-law, Joyce Sydenstricker of Villa Rica, GA, 4 grandchildren, Audrey Holland of Barboursville, Sarah Sydenstricker of Glenwood, Emmalee Broyles and Alexandra Phillips both of Mason, special friend, Alma Chapman and brothers and sisters in Christ at Cox Landing United Methodist Church.
