Pauline Jones, 79, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born October 15, 1938, in Pike County, KY, a daughter of the late Vada Akers Smith and Roosevelt Smith. Pauline graduated from Belfry High School, a member of the class of 1957. Pauline was a retiree of Verizon/Bell Atlantic with 31 years of service, having worked both in West Virginia and Maryland. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers CWA Local 2018, and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by three brothers, Hiram Smith, Jr., Charles Smith and Ernie Smith; three sisters, Emogene Morrison, Elene Chapman and Shirley Smith. She is survived by one special daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne (Jones) Cure and Dr. Robert J. Cure of Barboursville, WV; three sisters, Charlene Hatfield of Roanoke, VA, Patricia Rigby of Rocky Mount, NC, and Sylvia Daughtridge (Marvin) of Rocky Mount, NC; one very special grand dog, Samantha; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary.
