Sibyl R. Armstrong
(July 1, 1910 - December 29, 2011)



Sibyl R. Armstrong, 101, of Huntington, widow of Gene K. Armstrong, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, January 2, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Pastor Andy Magnusson officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Peace. She was born July 1, 1910, in Portersville, WV, Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Nathan and Jane Akers Reynolds. Two sisters, Eunice Marrs and Gladys Grass, and two brothers, Gallie Reynolds and Dewey Reynolds also preceded her in death. She was a member of Baptist Temple and was a retired Data Processor for ACF Industries. Survivors include, one daughter, Joycelyn George of Huntington; two grandchildren, Michele Wichorek and husband John of Holly, MI; Greg Bowles and wife Cheryl of Abingdon, VA; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Eric and Cory Bowles. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their kindness and care of Mrs. Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Baptist Temple 902 21st Street, Huntington, WV, 25703 or Hospice of Huntington 1101 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701.
