Ruby Fay Kirk Bays
(December 10, 2011)



Mrs. Ruby Kirk Bays departed this life Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Her parents Gracie Morgan Vance and Edward Holley, her first husband, the father of her children, Acie Emmett Kirk and her second husband J.H. Bays, one sister, Ruth Mannon and three brothers Raymond, Eugene and Robert Holley, one son-in-law Fred L. Davis, Sr. and one great grandson Thomas F. Bates preceded her in death. Ruby retired from St. Mary's Hospital in 1994, and was a faithful member of the 26th Street Church of Christ. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington, with Minister Brad Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton WV. Survivors include four daughters, Delores Kirk Davis, Phyllis Kirk Wilcox (Damon) all of Huntington, WV, Miss Peggy Kirk and Miss Patricia Kirk of Leland, NC; three grandchildren: Fred L. Davis, Jr. (Becki) of Huntington, WV, CMDR. Jon P. Wilcox (Melissa) of Honolulu, HI and Heather Wilcox Bates (Justin) of Anderson, IN; five great grandchildren: Samantha, Jacob, and Ginny-Anne Davis, Holly Bates and Chloe Wilcox; a special nephew and niece, Bennie Odell Mannon and Vickie Terry Caldwell as well as numerous other nephews and nieces. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Ruby will be remembered by many for her soft spoken and gentle spirit. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Aides at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, Ohio, the Doctors and Nurses at St. Mary’s Medical Center third floor and the staff of the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House for the loving care given to their mother.
