Randall Ray Sturm
(February 4, 1957 - December 13, 2011)


Randall Ray Sturm, 54, of Nitro, WV, formerly of Barboursville, WV, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at his residence. Memorial service will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2011, at Trinity Church of God, Third Avenue and 27th. Street, Huntington, with Pastor Ken Toler officiating. Inurnment will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Randy was born February 4, 1957 in Quantico, VA, the son of the late Donald Ray Sturm and Patricia Hensley Sturm. He was a 1975 graduate of Barboursville High School, where he played football and baseball; attended Marshall University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity; and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A Cabell Midland High School track volunteer, he also designed and organized the effort to have a wall of state championship signs installed on the facilities building. He will be forever loved and remembered for his sense of humor. Survivors include: daughter, Maria Nicole “Nikki” Sturm and grandchildren, Taylor Rust and Elijah Thomas, all of Lexington, KY; daughter, Kristina Maria Sturm of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Kimberly Sturm Parsons and husband Chris of Huntington and Dr. Pamela Anderson and husband Dr. Dennis Anderson of Culloden, WV; three nieces, Candice Brooke Parsons of Barboursville, WV, Jessalyn Lee Parsons of Huntington, and Elise Sturm Anderson of Culloden; uncle, David Sturm and Laura of Missouri City, TX; aunt Cathy Sturm of Milton, WV; aunt Sandra Workman and husband Denny of South Point, OH; uncle William Hensley and wife Sharon of Ashland, KY; and many cousins and friends.
