Marcheta E. "Kitten" Berkeley
(March 9, 1927 - December 17, 2011)



Marcheta E. “Kitten” Berkeley, 84, of Milton, WV, wife of Thomas J. Berkeley, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday December 22, 2011 at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. W. Gregg Terry and Rev. John W. “Jack” Lipphardt officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born March 9, 1927 in Louisa, KY, a daughter of the late Edgar Enslow and Sallie Effe Rickman McClure. Three brothers and two sisters, including Juanita Virginia “Winnie” Fox, preceded her in death. Kitten was very devoted to her husband and family. She attended Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church as a child and later attended Milton Presbyterian where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir director. She also was president of Milton Junior Women’s Club for two terms. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters; Sherry E. Eagleston and Jim Friederick of Huntington, and Sally Cauduill and husband, Alan Caudill, all of Huntington; a son, Charles Thomas Berkeley of Huntington; four grandchildren, Adam Thomas Eagleston and wife Haley of Memphis, TN, Candace Eagleston Perry and husband Chris of Olive Branch, Miss, Justin L. Eagleston of Huntington, and Cara Shea Berkeley of Nashville, TN; and great grandchildren, Trae, Haley, Michael, Ava, and Mary McClure. Flowers are appreciated and donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
