Howard Blevins
(November 2, 1928 - January 6, 2011)


Howard Blevins, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Bennie Dean officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 9738. He was born November 2, 1928 in Laurel Springs, NC a son of the late William Calvin and Estella Viola Jenkins Blevins. Two sisters, Ruby Blevins and Dorothy Blevins; a brother, Paul Blevins; and the mother of his children, Glenna Blevins, also preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired employee of the Cabell County Board of Education. Survivors include: his wife, Judy E. Lucas Blevins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Renee Blevins and Kenneth and Kathy Blevins, all of Florida; two step daughters and sons-in-law, Robin M. and Charlie Banks of Chesapeake, OH and Sheila and Jamie Burcham of Ona, WV; two step sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Cindy Staszewski of Chicago, IL and Michael and Leann Staszewski of Huntington; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
