Thelma S. Holderby
(May 14, 1925 - January 22, 2011)


Thelma S. Holderby, 85, of Huntington, WV, peacefully went home with the Lord, Saturday January 22, 2011 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday January 25, 2011 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. Burial will be in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Thelma was born May 14, 1925 in Catlettsburg, KY a daughter of the late Gaines & Katherine Childers Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard Eugene Holderby, and four brothers; Delbert, Joe, Gene, & Jim Smith. Survivors include two daughters; Brenda Holderby, Katherine Lockhart & husband Frowde one sister; Betty Erwin and one brother; Gaines "Buddy" Smith all of Huntington, seven grandchildren; Teresa Gould (Joe), Rocky Burns (Ginger), Ronnie Myers (Martina), Kathy Holderby (Amos), Ricky Holderby, J.R. Lockhart (Jennifer), & Dreama Persinger (Eric), 20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She will be missed by all, especially by her great granddaughter and "buddy" Amber.
