Howard Emery Walker
(June 15, 1932 - January 14, 2011)



Howard Emery Walker, 78, of Huntington, WV, formerly of Gulf Hammock, FL, passed away Friday January 14, 2011 at his daughter's residence in Huntington, WV. He was born June 15, 1932 in Sarasota, FL, a son of the late Harley and Annie Betts Walker. He also had two brothers precede him in death. Howard was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked in construction and owned Walker Construction Company while living in La Habra, CA. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. Garrity Walker, formerly of Gulf Hammock; three daughters, Debra Sue Walker of Riverside, CA, Dorothy Nemecek and husband Gary of Huntington, WV, and Sandy Schmidt and husband, Pat, of Bridgeport, TX; two sons, Earl Menary of La Habra, CA, and Robert Walker and wife, Maryann, of Garden Grove, CA; a sister, Lois Whitted of Sarasota, FL; and five grandchildren, Robert Walker, Michael Walker, Michelle Walker, Kelly Ryan Walker, and Joey Schmidt. Donations in Howard's name may be sent to the VA Hospital for their wonderful kindness and care. Memorial services and inurnment in St. Mark's Cemetery, Bristol, PA., will be at a later date.
