James Edward Adkins, 88, of Huntington, WV, died Friday May 18, 2018 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday May 21, 2018 at Bowen Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Matt officiating. James was born December 31, 1929 in Huntington, WV a son of the Homer and Leslie Morrison Adkins. He was retired from H.K. Porter Steel. He was also preceded in death his wife Wilma Adkins, one son, Christopher Ferris Adkins and one sister, Clara Storms. Survivors include three sons, James Michael Adkins and wife Debbie and Douglas Adkins all of Huntington, Roger N. Adkins of Flatwoods, KY, six grandchildren, Patrick, Joshua, Stephen and Nathaniel Adkins, James and Alicia Adkins, two great grandchildren and one on the way. Friends may visit with the family after 1:30 PM Monday at the cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
