Obituary



Marsha Lavonne Hicks, 74, of Barboursville, widow of Charles Hicks, passed away Monday May 14, 2018 in the Wyngate Assisted Living Community, Barboursville. She was born February 21, 1944, in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Elijah F. and Adda Adkins Midkiff. One son, David Workman, two infant daughters, and 3 brothers, Elijah, Bernard H., and Ralph Q. Midkiff also preceded her in death. She was a 1963 graduate of HEHS, a member of the 20th Street Baptist and Highlawn Baptist Churches, and a hospital billing clerk. Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda Lafon of Huntington, Eleanor F. and James Pullen of Indian Land, SC; two stepsons and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Woodmere Memorial Park with Charles Shaw officiating. Burial will follow. Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
