Obituary


Charles Edward Mowdy, Jr., 71, of Huntington, husband of Joy Mowdy, died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1947 in Huntington a son of the late Charles Edward and Betty Corns Mowdy. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was retired from BASF having worked in the Dye Department, and a member of Bible Apostolic Church. In addition to his wife survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Stephanie Mowdy of Huntington; three grandchildren, Christopher Lee Mowdy, Sophie Mowdy and Nora Mowdy; two great grandchildren; an uncle and aunt, David and Brenda Corns of Huntington; and two nieces, Brenda and Bridget. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Friday, June 1, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary with Rev. David Fairburn and Pastor Cliff Hager officiating. Entombment will be in The White Chapel Mausoleum in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call after 11:00 am Friday at Chapman's Mortuary.
