Obituary

EDNA MAY CARPENTER, 86, of Ceredo, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was born September 15, 1931,  to the late Golden Herbert and Thelma May Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister; Norman Davis, Lowell  Davis, Anna Lee Hensley, Herbert Davis and Lloyd Davis. She is survived by one younger brother, Larry Davis. Best remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, she is survived by the love of her life of 66 years, Lonnie Carpenter in addition to her three children, Kenneth (Jerri) Carpenter of Orlando, FL, Terry (Nancy) Carpenter of South Point, OH, and Darla (Dennis) Smith of Proctorville, OH. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Cyndi Smith, Christina Register, Krystal Kay, Sonny Carpenter, Dennis Smith II and Philip Smith; and eight great grandchildren with one more on the way in September. Her favorite scripture rings true as she now finds ultimate joy in her eternal resting place, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24.  Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 25,2018, at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with Reverend Keith Leap officiating.
