Obituary
James Joseph "Joe" Verbage, 64, of Huntington, WV, died Monday May 7, 2018 at his residence. Joe was born March 14, 1954 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Samuel S. and Margaret A Lindsay Verbage. He was retired from Parker Hannifan where he received National Salesman of the year. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Cookie Chapman and Linda L. Kassab and one brother, Glenn A. Verbage. Survivors include two sons, Ryan Verbage of Huntington and Cody Verbage of New York, NY, one daughter, Lindsay Perez of Corona, CA, his loving companion, Kathy Little of Huntington, three sisters, Shorty Bailey and husband Paul and Patty Spence and husband Steve all of Huntington, and Bobbie Kitchen of Dallas, TX, three brothers, Bo Verbage and wife Alice, and Larry Verbage and wife Vickie all of Huntington and Tee Verbage of Greenville, SC, two grandchildren, Clayton and Mia Perez. The family asks to remember Joe as witty but most importantly remember his love for life, family and friends. Along with his successful sales career, he owned Verb's, Tapas, and Joe Joe's Barge and Grille. He also founded EECC which held the best Whiffle ball and Volleyball games in Highlawn. His epic stories, one liners, and winning smile made him The Legend "Joey Ballgame". Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday May 11, 2018 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Jackie Edwards officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. |
