Obituary



Rondle Cline Chapman, 67, of Ashland, KY, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 5, 1950 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Foster Cline "Bud" and Dova Ferguson Chapman. He was a graduate of Georgia College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. He was a car business owner, along with his father and brother, for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran and was a member of Wildwood First Christian Church, Ashland, KY. Survivors include: two daughters, Jenny Chapman of Mooresville, NC and Molly (Scott) Coburn of Ashland; a son, Rory (Carrie) Chapman of Huntington; a special step son, Evan Akers of Huntington; four grandchildren, Trevor, Trey, Kolby, and Juliet; a sister, Jan (Kenneth) Kirby of Huntington; a brother, Jim Chapman (Anne Tierney) of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He took great joy in watching his grandsons play baseball. He was a huge Marshall Football fan. Funeral services will be conducted noon Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with his son, Rory Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon Tuesday at Chapman's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association in honor of his great nieces, Arden and Maris.
