Nellie Frances Lake, 89, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born October 3, 1927 in Apple Grove, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Walter and Nancy Bateman Shank. She was also preceded in death by Paul Lake, her loving husband, and four brothers, Hershel Shank, Robert Shank, Glen Shank, and Charles "Curley" Shank. Nellie attended First Church of the Nazarene and worked formerly at Anderson Newcomb and Sears Roebuck and Company. Survivors include her two sisters, Thelma Sturgeon and Ruth Meadows, both of Huntington; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Marc Price officiating and Dallas Moore assisting. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. The family will welcome friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
