Obituary



Minoka Mae Wallace Simpson, 92, of Huntington, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. She was born July 2, 1924 in Wellsburg, WV a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Dorothy G. Braley Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Philip Letcher Simpson; an infant daughter, Frances Gayle Simpson; a sister, Ruth Ellen Wallace; and two brothers, Joseph Elwood Wallace and Dolas Alonzo Wallace. Minoka was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of Christ. Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Philip Richard and Christina Simpson; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Joan Simpson Menear and Norman William Menear; four grandchildren, Donald Philip (Hilary) Simpson, Anne Renae Menear, Joe David (Stacy) Simpson, and Michael William Menear; three great grandchildren Katelynn, Grace, and Josie Simpson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Minister Jimmy Tingler and Minister Danny Evans officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Huntington. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
