Eloise Hite, 94, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born June 8, 1923 in Huntington. Eloise was preceded in death by Harvey C. and Marietta Farren, maternal grandparents who reared her. She was the daughter of the late John A. Hite and Hazel Farren Hite Pace. Eloise was a graduate of Huntington East High School and attended Wiseman Business School and Huntington School of Business. She was the Executive Assistant to Kermit E. McGinnis at Huntington Federal Savings Bank for 38 years. She owned and operated Pleasant Ceramics. She was a member of Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School in Junior and Intermediate classes for 16 years. Eloise was a member of Guyandotte Chapter #89 O.E.S. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Hite. She is survived by a niece, Sue Baughman. A memorial service will be conducted 6:00 pm Friday, September 1, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Dr. Timothy Waugh officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
