Sebert L. "Butch" Erwin, Sr.
(March 18, 1944 - April 1, 2011)



Sebert L. “Butch” Erwin, Sr., 67, of Russell, KY, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011, at Community Hospice, Ashland, KY. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly, 2485-Fourth Avenue, Huntington, WV, with Rev. Jonathan Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Russell, KY. Butch was born March 18, 1944 in Cabell County, WV a son of the late Sebert and Frances Carter Erwin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pastor Judith E. Erwin on September 24, 2001; a sister, Sue Jarvis; and a brother, Danny Erwin. He worked in construction most of his life and was a member of Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly, where he was a Bishop and an Executive Board Member. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Sebert L. “Butchie” Erwin, Jr. and Denise Erwin of Winter Haven, FL and Stephen Lee and Valeree Erwin of Huntington; four grandchildren, Stephen Todd Erwin, Brianna Erwin, Luke Erwin, and Hannah Erwin; a sister, Kay Mills of Columbus, OH; and a brother, Tom Erwin of New Boston, OH. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Highlawn Full Gospel Assembly. Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
