Shermia Lee Jeffers
(June 5, 1916 - April 25, 2011)



Shermia Lee Jeffers, 94, of Huntington, WV died Monday April 25, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday April 29, 2011 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Lindsay Thorp officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Shermia Lee was born June 5, 1916 in Lincoln County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Milton and Cora B. Stowers Adkins. She was owner and operator of the former J & J Café. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Glenn Jeffers, five brothers, five sisters, a daughter, Donarita Stanley, a son-in-law, Mack Stanley, a grandson, Timothy Mack Stanley, and a great-grandson, Kevin R. McGlone. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria & Ivan McGlone of Huntington; three grandsons and wives, Randy & Susie McGlone of Huntington, Tony & Maria Stanley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Terry & Tina Stanley of Charlotte, NC; one granddaughter, Tonya Wells of Ceredo, WV; seven great-grandchildren, Charity Stanley Smith of Connecticut, Kristina McGlone of Barboursville, Mallory Watts & husband Jeremy Watts of Houston, TX, Anthony Wells of New York City, Adam Stanley, Alex Stanley both of Charlotte, NC and Joey Stanley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two great great-grandsons, Kevin and Clay Payton of Barboursville; one brother, Milton Adkins Jr. of Dunnellon FL; one step-great granddaughter, Ashley Thompson of Huntington; special friends David & Karen Rhodes, Britney Smith, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call after 1:00 PM Friday April 29, 2011 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
