Mildred Mae Chapman Hall
(January 26, 1926 - April 3, 2011)



Mildred Mae Chapman Hall, 85, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Huntington, WV, loving wife, sister, mother and Mamaw, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 3, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor David Cartwright, Dr. Dan Hogan, and Rev. Bill DeMoss officiating. Entombment will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Abbey of Remembrance, Huntington, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. She was born January 25, 1926 in Huntington a daughter of the late Alva Lloyd and Donna Rae Massie Martin. Her first husband, Elmer Marion Chapman, Jr. and a son-in-law, Bill Chapman, also preceded her in death. In 1951, Mildred assisted her first husband, Elmer, and his family in founding Chapman’s Mortuary, where she worked until her retirement in 2000. She was also one of the founding owners of Ashton Riverview Campground. She was a member of Fourth Avenue United Methodist and was currently attending Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church and Cross Roads United Methodist Church with her family. Survivors include: her husband, Dr. Ralph H. Hall; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Connie Mae Chapman of Milton, WV, Brenda Kay Chapman Johnson Hanson and David Hanson of Winfield, WV, Anita Gay Chapman Estep and Rick Estep of Hurricane, WV, Marion Fay Chapman Jacobson and Ed Jacobson of Apex, NC; and Dora Lou Chapman Wright and Mike Wright of Huntington; two sisters, Dorcie Steinbrecher of Huntington and Carol Young of Farmington, Maine; a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon Lee and Gail Martin of Proctorville, OH; two sisters-in-law, Gladys B. Chapman of Huntington and Loumedia Chapman Holley of Proctorville, OH; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Billy (Tedra) Chapman, Todd Marion Chapman (Robert Bailey), Mark Chapman, Charlie (Sheri) Johnson, Jennifer (Dr. J. B.) Marinacci, Joseph Andrew Estep, Chad Martin Jacobson, Drew Jordan Jacobson, Wes (Mandy) Wright, and Candice Rae Wright; eight great grandchildren, Amanda Mae Chapman, Casey Lee Johnson, Holley Kay Johnson, Alyssa Marion Marinacci, Andrew Davis Marinacci, Addley Marie Marinacci, Khloe Hui-Suk Estep, and Brycen Wesley Wright; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her family of employees at Chapman’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at either Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church at 2848 Putnam Ave, Hurricane, WV 25526 or Cross Roads United Methodist Church at 3146 Saltwell Road, Huntington, WV 25705. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary.
