June D. McDonie
(June 16, 1921 - April 10, 2011)



Mrs. June D. McDonie, 89, of Huntington, WV, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary in Huntington with Pastor Andrew J. Magnusson officiating. Entombment will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. June was born June 16, 1921, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Okey & Arsula Workman Dillon. She was a retired accountant and office manager from Body Builders, Inc. She was a lifelong member of Baptist Temple and the Cook Memorial Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the East Huntington Kiwanas Club for women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton K. McDonie and an infant daughter, Penelope June. She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law, Robert E. & Jessie McDonie of Huntington and Joseph K. & Karen P. McDonie of Milton; five grandchildren; Alycia Nicole “Niki” McDonie, Christopher R. McDonie & wife Luvi M. all of Orlando, FL, Natasha M. Romage of Huntington, Justin R. McDonie & wife Aga A. of Raleigh, NC, Brittany J. McDonie of Wake Forest, NC, & one great-grandchild; Alexandra A. “Ally” McDonie of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by a brother-in-law; Ralph W. McDonie & wife Frances of Lexington, KY. The family will receive friends at Chapman’s Mortuary after 11:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
