Maria Magdalena "Magda" Widdifield
(April 3, 2011)



Maria Magdalena "Magda" Widdifield, 87, of Huntington, widow of Thomas Richard Widdifield, died April 3,2011 after a long battle with Alzheimers. Magda was born in Budapest, Hungary, the youngest of 13 children and survived the Nazi occupation of her beloved homeland. She was known and loved by all for her beautiful accent, brilliant blue eyes and kind word to everyone. She was preceded in death by her father Zoltan Gezcy and mother Elizabeth, and her twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three sons and daughter-in-law, Tom Widdifield or Orange Texas, Joe and Sandy Widdifield of Hurricane, West Virginia, and Rick Widdifield of Huntington. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Aaron and Amy Widdifield, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Carmen and Mickey Dial of Huntington. She is survived by 6 six great grandchildren, Paige, Chaz, Courtney, Hannah, Lexy and Kinsey. She is also sorely missed by her "daughters" and caretaker's, Lori Snow, Portria Short and Theresa Roy. A brief memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall on 5t" Street Road and Wood Lane, on Thursday April 7, 2011, at 7:00 PM. Visitation with friends and family will begin one hour preceding the memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations would go to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
