Gloria Faye Carson Ferguson
(July 1, 1930 - March 25, 2011)



Gloria Faye Carson Ferguson, 80, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday March 29, 2011 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Dr. Ricky Ray officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. She was born July 1, 1930 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Herschel S. Porter, Sr., and Josephine Damron Porter. Her husbands, Billy Ferguson and Albert Eugene Carson, and her special aunt, Lillian Murdock also preceded her in death. Gloria graduated from Huntington East High School, was retired as a crew leader from the former Owens Illinois, and a member of Highlawn Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and Ladies Circle when she was able to attend church. Her hobbies included gardening and a great love for her cats, and dogs. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Gibson of Barboursville; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Beth Carson of Huntington; a sister, Phyllis James, and a brother and sister-in-law, Herschel S. “Sonny” Porter, Jr., and Margaret Porter, all of Chesapeake, OH; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
