Reginald A. Spencer
(June 18, 1931 - March 30, 2011)


Reginald A. Spencer, 79, of Huntington, WV. devoted and faithful husband to his wife Joan, and loving father to his children, died Wednesday March 30, 2011 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 11:30 AM Monday April 4, 2011 at Baptist Temple with Pastor Andrew Magnusson officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Reginald was born June 18, 1931 in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late Albert & Annabelle Ross Spencer. After graduation from West Virginia University, he became a Golf Professional at private clubs in Morgantown and Bridgeport, WV. He later became the Director of Career Planning & Job Placement at Marshall University. He was a active member of the Baptist Temple, volunteered at Hospice and Faith In Action, and was a chaplain at Cabell Huntington Hospital and various other volunteer services. He also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by two brothers James & Jack Spencer. Survivors include his wife, Joan Spencer, six daughters, Suzie Spencer, Sandy Pence, Sally Spencer, Dr. Sharon Spencer, Stefa Peterson and Stacey Spencer, a step-daughter, Mary Alice, one son Scott Spencer & wife Sarah, 5 grandchildren, Griffin Spencer, Sophie Pence, John Spencer, Andy Peterson, and Parker Spencer. A special thank you to Jo Ghiz and Margie Copley, who provided excellent care to Reg and the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
