Evelyn Hamlin
(February 4, 1936 - March 9, 2011)


Mrs. Evelyn Francis Hamlin, 75, of Glenwood, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Chapman's Mortuary with Ernest M. Ritchie officiating. She was born February 4, 1936 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Lewis Edward and Rachel Elizabeth Wells Elkins. In addition to he parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Ruth Sawyers, Lois Mays, Mary Kirtley, and Edna Graham, and 4 brothers, William, Charles, Ernest, and Jessie Elkins. She was retired from the Housekeeping Department at the Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital, and was Free Will Baptist by faith. Surviving are 3 daughters; Mary (Gene) Johnson of Pelion, SC, Deborah Nibert, of Glenwood, WV and Rebecca Hamlin of Lesage, WV; 3 sons, Ray (Annette) Hamlin, Jr. of Ravenna, OH, Louis (Lynn) Hamlin and Danny (Judy) Hamlin, both of Huntington, a brother, James Elkins of Culloden, 23 grandchildern and 45 grand children.. The family will receive friends after 12:30 Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Chapman's Mortuary.
