Edgar Leroy "Jim" Keneipp, Jr.
(June 24, 1921 - March 28, 2011)


Edgar Leroy “Jim” Keneipp, Jr., 89.of Huntington, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 24, 1921 in Evansville, IN, a son of the late Edgar L. and Nan Watts Keneipp. His brother, Robert W. Keneipp also preceded him in death. Jim was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran having served from 1941-1944, in the European Theater and in the Philippines. Jim was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, also a St. John’s vestry member, a graduate of The University of Kentucky and a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was in sales for Proctor Gamble, sold real estate, and owned Frozen Foods Elk Brokerage. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. “Bunny” Keneipp; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy K. Cremeans, Sue and Steven “Rocky” White, all of Huntington; a son, Edgar L. “Eddie” Keneipp III of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Erin Peel and her husband Chris Peel, Christopher White, and Jonathan Cremeans all of Huntington, and Jared Cremeans of Ona; a great granddaughter, Vanessa Cremeans of Summersville, WV; and very special care givers, Tennie Copley, Brenda Hundley, and Darla Barker. Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday March 31, 2011 at the St. John’s Episcopal Church by the Reverend Karen F. Humbert. Inurnment will follow in the St. John’s Columbarium. The family will receive friends after 1:00 PM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
