Michael Dale Toppins
(April 6, 1953 - March 15, 2011)



Mr. Michael Dale Toppins, 57, of Ranger, WV, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday March 15, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM, Friday, March 18, 2011, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, WV., with Rev. Fred Ferguson and Rev. Bennie Dean officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Mike was born April 6, 1953 at West Hamlin, WV, a son of the late Ray and Ruby Mavis Brumfield Toppins. He was a retired Heavy Equipment operator with Patterson Excavating and Belva Coal Company, a member of the U.M.W.A and a graduate of Harts High School. Also preceding him in death, was a brother,. Ronald Ray Toppins. He was Baptist by faith. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sandra Kay Williamson Toppins, one daughter, Cassandra Michelle Toppins, of Ranger, a very special granddaughter, Mikayla Brianne Toppins, of Ranger, WV, who was his world and the light of his eye. Mike also leaves behind 2 sisters and brothers-in-law; Judy and Jerry Richards of Harts, WV and Linda and Jack Capehart of Barboursville, WV, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Jean and Benny Artis, of Wayne, WV, Judy Strow of Crown City, OH, and Denzil Williamson of Edgemoor, SC, many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM Friday, March 18, 2011.
