Obituary



Dorothy R. Cutright, 96, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at The Wyngate Senior Living Community. She was born April 20, 1922 in Red Creek, Tucker County, WV the third child of the late French Harding and Mary Katherine Keister Raines. Her husband, James Philip Cutright; a daughter, Nancy Cutright; two sisters; and a brother, preceded her in death. She received her elementary education at the Flanagan Hill School at Red creek and graduated from Davis High School in 1939. In 1941, she graduated from the WV Business College in Clarksburg. For the nest 11 years, she was employed at National Carbon. She married James Philip in 1946 after he returned from WW II and they were married until his death in 2003. Dorothy was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church and was a woman of strong faith. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Jody Eddins and Sue Cutright Howland, all of Huntington; three grandsons and their spouses and eight great grandchildren, Joseph and Erin Eddins and their children, Stiles, Jolie, and Quinn of Huntington, Tyler and Jessie Eddins and their children, Noah and Sadie of Cork, Ireland, and Jacob and Michaela Eddins and their children, Kylie, Gavin, and Jayce of Auburn, AL; and special friend, Terri Effingham of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Mark Conner officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
