Obituary
Barbara Edith (Kissack) Delligatti passed away peacefully at her home December 5th, 2018 with her family at her side. Barbara was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September l0th, 1953 to the late Audrey and Edward Kissack. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dean Delligatti and her brother, Bradley Kissack. Barbara grew up in Boardman, Ohio and graduated from Boardman High School in 1971, a band captain and majorette. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom Delligatti in June 1973. Their daughter Tara was born in 1979 in Salem, OH and in 1985 gave birth to twin sons, Dustin and Dean, in Sarasota, FL and became a Mimi in 2003 when grandson Gavin was born. Also, in 1985 Barbara began painting in oil but soon fell in love with watercolor, winning many awards over the years for her paintings. She was the owner of The Upstairs Gallery in Ashland, KY and a displaying member at Tamarack in the Dickinson Fine Art Gallery, Beckley, WV. Barbara acted as the chairperson for the Huntington Museum of Art/TSAA art exhibitions for many years, directed the "Art in the Park" events in Ritter Park, served on the board for Tri-State Arts Association and was a member of the WV Watercolor Society. Barbara enjoyed teaching watercolor and held workshops at many locations in WV, KY and OH. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be remembered and loved by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Tom Delligatti, daughter Tara Delligatti, son Dustin Delligatti, grandson Gavin Vaughn, sister Laura Whitman, brother Lawrence Kissack, mother-in-law Cora Delligatti and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, on Saturday, December l5th, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM for family and friends.
