Obituary


Edith Hedge, 99, of Huntington, widow of Lee Hedge, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Ray Vance officiating, and Tim Messinger assisting. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born August 31, 1919, in Lincoln County, WV, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Spicy Clay Hager. Four sisters, Marie Cox, Lucy Mullins, Francis Holbrook and Barbara Lobell; one brother, Willard Hager and a half- brother William Hager, and an infant son, Lloyd Hedge also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Good Shepherd Free-will Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter and her spouse, Patricia and Roger Messinger of Huntington; two sons, Hubert Lee Hedge and companion Beverly Fortney of Mount Morris, PA, and Allen and Carolyn Hedge of Barboursville, WV; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
